Snow Night and the Seven Lawn Chairs

There's nothing like returning from a nice, warm desert climate and being greeted by below-freezing weather. Here is a view from our roof. The snow doesn't usually stick on the ground in downtown Seattle, but this time it did and I love it! -Joel

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 23 - SUNDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2006
Gobble Gobble

We just returned from a lovely time in Arizona visiting my family. Here is a look at what you missed, and what Joel (thankfully) put up with. -Cathy (click here)

FRIDAY OCTOBER 27 - SUNDAY OCTOBER 29, 2006
Vashon Vishion

Sorry it's been so long since our last update...but this is a good one. We spent the weekend on Vashon Island. The tourist guide proclaims the island is, "so close, yet so far away," and as cheesy as it is, it's true. A twenty minute ferry ride from Seattle, we felt like we were a world away. We saw stars at night and heard something besides the constant drone of cars on Highway 99 and late-night revelers spilling out of clubs. Oh so relaxing. And the colors, did I mention the colors? Simply amazing. Every road we turned down we were greeted with the most spectacular glow of yellows and reds. Living in the city, I almost forgot it was fall. -Joel (want to see more...)

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 2006
Strike a Pose

On our way home from the Frye Art Museum, where we saw a great exhibit on Henry Darger, we walked through downtown, making a quick stop at Banana Republic where
I caught Cathy performing her best mannequin impersonation. Not bad. -Joel

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2006
Road Blocks

This was the first picture I took today. I was on my way to Mae Phim dreaming about a Thai Ice Tea when the light on the side of the road caught my eye. I thought it was nice.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2006
Mae Phavorite

Timing is everything. Especially when it comes to trying not to finish your Thai Ice Tea before the meal is served at Mae Phim Thai Restaurant, our favorite place to eat. Fortunately the service is quick. The only problem is the the ice tea is oh, so good and oh, so hard not to finish before the plate touches the table (did i mention the ice tea is only $1!) . Cathy and I made our weekly trek to the downtown Seattle restaurant where once again Cathy had to practice her slow-sipping technique while anxiously awaiting her Swimming Rama (chicken sauteed in peanut sauce over a bed of vegetables, mmmm). I just close my eyes and think happy thoughts until my food arrives. It rarely works. - Joel
